Michael: Hi there. I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today we're going to take a quick look at the lockable slide out water inlet. This is going to replace one worn or damaged slide out gravity fill water fill spout. Does have the O-ring here to help ensure a nice tight seal. We're not going to have to worry about any leaking.
We can just pull this out, and it's going to allow us to fill up our water tank with any sort of fresh water source that we have available, whether it be a water jug, or a hose that's coming in, whatever the case may be. It will allow us to lock our cap so that we don't have to worry about anyone tampering with it. This hole size is 5/32nds of an inch, so it's pretty small, but you can find some padlocks that will fit through there. Obviously one is not included with this, but you can find them sold separately, just to make sure that no one is getting in and tampering with your water supply. As far as our dimensions go. This is right about three and a half inches wide and about three and a half inches tall.
It's not showing you very well there, but there we go, about three and a half inches tall. For our cutout, we are going to need at least two and a half inches to get this installed in place. Our total depth, once we have this installed, we're going to be right about three and three quarters of an inch deep, and it will connect to your hoses inside your RV or travel trailer. You can see it is right about one and a quarter of an inch thick there at the tapered end.So if you're needing a new slide out gravity fill, I think this is going to be a good option for you. It does tend to pull out.
There's nothing that stops it from coming all the way out. So in just the short amount of time that I've been playing with it, I've noticed that it is kind of difficult to get this to come out without coming completely out, but you're probably more used to that than I am, if you already have one. So if you are needing a replacement, I would think that this would do a good job for you, give you that locking capability, and allow you to fill up your water tank. That's going to complete our look at the lockable slide out water inlet. Again, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Thanks for watching..
